Da Lat is the metropolis of Lam Dong province. At an altitude of 1,500m above of sea level, Da Lat with its cooling climate serves as an ideal location for relaxation of the southern area. Once famous for sights like Love Valley, Lake Than Tho, Twin Graves Hill, Elephant Waterfall, etc. Da Lat isn’t as primitive as it once was. Today, the might attractions include Lake Ho Xuan Huong, Mount Langbiang, Bao Dai Edifice, Truc Lam Zen Monastery, Lake Tuyen Lam and Da Lat train station. Plane

There are direct flights from Ha Noi, Da Nang or even Ho Chi Minh City to Lien Khuong airport in Da Lat. You can book these flights from Vietnam Airlines or Vietjet Air. Plane tickets cost from 900,000-1,600,000VND, flight time can range from 50-100 minutes, depending on where you take off.
From Lien Khuong airport, you can take a bus to Da Lat city central for 50,000VND or take a cab for 300,000VND

Coach

Coaches only make sense if you go from Sai Gon or nearer. If you go from Sai Gon, you should take the night bus and pay 200,000VND for a seat or 240,000VND for a bed. But that isn’t the only option as there is one of these buses every half an hour.

Transportation in Da Lat


Motorcycle: 80,000-120,000VND per day, per bike (gas not included)
Twin bicycle: 20,000 per hour.
Car: Only available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day, rent cost starts from 1 million VND, and 100,000VND for each extra hour.
Bus: There are bus routes that can take you to most areas of Lam Dong, the way this works is pretty much what you would expect from taking buses. Prices range from 4,000-30,000VND.

Attractions of Da Lat Tourism

The Central

Da Lat Market (a.k.a. Hell Market): Something that should not be missed out in Da Lat. In here, you can find second-hand outer clothing, along with specialties like strawberry juice, dry fruit, jam, etc. The Ho Xuan Huong lake is the symbol of Da Lat Tourism. The lake is most beautiful when the sun is half-way there. Enjoy boating in this romantic scenery.
Bao Dai Edifice: The elegent estate situated in a hill that is 1,539m tall.
Da Lat train station: 1 Quang Trung street. This is the popular location to take selfies.

Tay Nguyen Biology Institute: Located on top of Tung Lam Hill, aside from the beautiful view, the institute also serves as a museum of animal preserve as well as a botanical garden.
Da Lat Pedagogy College: Listed in the top 1,000 architecture of the last century.
Cherry blossom valley: Is located in Le Hong Phong street, near Bao Dai Edifice. Aside from the sparkling cherry blossoms, the garden is also famous for rare specialties.

The North

Love Valley: Most romantic location in Da Lat Tourism, 6km away from city central in the North-East. Visitors can climb up Hill Vong Canh to have a complete view of Love Valley.

Yellow Stream Lake: Perfect place for a picnic. From Da Lat center, head north to Lac Duong, turn left at Tung Lam and continue to go straight for 12km, then you should find the Yellow Stream Lake.
Mount Langbiang: The mountain itself is located 12km to the North. There are 2 ways to get to the top: on foot or on a jeep. You can pay 180,000VND to rent a whole jeep or 50,000VND for one seat in it, either way should take you about 15 minutes to get to the top. If you choose to hike up the mountain, the trip is 8km, so it should take about 90 minutes. But there is an upside to this. The side of the road is filled with pines and wildflowers. The view from the top is spectacular. Enjoy some local BBQ while you’re here.

The South

Tuyen Lam lake: 1,000 above of sea level, 5km south of city central, the Lake is located in gorge Prenn. You can ride a boat to get to the island for 200,000VND. Sharing your boat with others might save you some money.
Truc Lam Zen Monastery: Located on Phung Hoang Mountain, above of Tuyen Lam lake. The largest monastery of Lam Dong is now one of the hottest attraction of Da Lat. Travelers can walk, or take a cable ride to the Monastery for 50,000VND.

The Food

A Lam Đong Specialty – Banh can
Banh can: A Lam Dong special. The best banh can in town is found in Tang Bat Ho street. One banh can goes for 3,000-5,000VND, depending on the filling. This tasty snack can be enjoyed in anytime of day.
Banh canh: 15 Nha Chung, near Da Lat post office, only opens in the afternoon, goes for 25,000-30,000VND per bowl.
Banh beo: 228 Phan Dinh Phung, opens from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. everyday, 5,000VND for a banh beo.
Bun bo: Anh Sang is the street with the best bun bo Hue (beef noodle) located near lake Ho Xuan Huong. 20,000-30,000VND per bowl
Strawberry Ice Cream: 242D Phan Dinh Phung, the ice cream here is unique because of the strawberry freshly picked right from the back garden. An ice cream usually comes with milk, eggs and other ingredients, and goes for around 8,000 VND.
