Bach Ma Mountain or Bach Ma range is a beautiful mountain which is 60km from Hue to the south. It is the natural boundary between the provinces of Thua Thien Hue and Da Nang. Bach Ma mountain is famous for many streams and spectacular waterfalls. Do Quyen waterfall is in 400 meters high, 20 meters wide. On summer days, on both sides of the waterfall are azaleas blooming like two giant silk flower carpets. In the center of the resort is a waterfall in 10m high and 40m wide as a white curtain. Standing on Bach Ma mountain, visitors can take the splendid view of the Hai Van Pass, Tuy Van Mountain, Cau Hai and shimmering electric light of Hue City at night.
The climate in there is certainly one of the most pleasant climates of the destinations of Indochina. Thanks to its location as well as the temperature which never exceeds the following limits: the coldest winter +4 degrees Celsius, the hottest summer + 26 degrees Celsius. From February to May, it has the lowest rainfall. The temperature is very cool. It’s various from 10 to 22 degrees. There is no period else in the year that flowers can be more beautiful and climate is cooler.
From June to September, the weather is always brilliantly sunny at dawn. Sometimes there are a few brief rainstorms in the afternoon. The temperature becomes milder. It is recorded that the weather may be 18 degrees in the morning and at night. The heavy rains begin in late September and last 3 months, which is consistent with the regime of rain.
In 1932 the French had built a large resort at an altitude of 1000-1444 metres. The whole resort has 139 villas with markets, banks, post office, swimming pool, tennis courts… and a street system for cars with 19 km long connects with the city center of Bach Ma city After the war , the Bach Ma resort became ashes and ruins. Visiting the remnants of the mansions with only the foundations and the walls, you will feel a loss because of the remaining legacies of the time.

The villas have been rebuilt and renovated by Bach Ma National Park to welcome guests. In order to get to the top, you have to climb over the steeps. But from top of the mountain, you will feel as if you are standing above the cloud because the cloud is only halfway up of the mountain. From here you can have panoramic view of a large space at the Bach Ma and the view of Hue. Even in the villa where you will stay on top of the Bach Ma, you can also see the mountains and clouds.
You will get on Bach Ma mountain in one of two ways: on foot or by car (less than 24 seats) on a small and narrow road in 20 km long. Indeed, if there is a permission of driving the cylinder motorbike to conquer this 1,450m high peak, it will be very interesting. Unfortunately, it was prohibited to ensure safety for guests and non- polluting environment.
Visiting Bach Ma, you should remember the series of unique trail which is only for people who love wildlife. You can take at least a day to explore every trail without any special climbing equipment.
