EXPLORE THE DANGEROUS ISLAND CALLED BIKINI

The beautiful Bikini Atoll took place more than 20 nuclear weapon tests by the US military.
Bikini Atoll is an atoll with 6 km2 area belonging to the Marshall Islands, Pacific. This island is famous for two things. The first is that it is named after the type of swimsuit bikini in 1946. The second is that this area took place more than 20 nuclear weapon tests by the US military from 1946 to 1958.
Accordingly, in 1946, the US military required to evacuate all people on 19 islands to turn the archipelago into a nuclear weapon testing site. Radiation from the testing activities turned them into deserted islands for decades.
The native people have been displaced and lived in exile on the other islands. However, many people began to return to this area to live in 1987.
Today, the island was relatively safe, visitable, the amount of radiation was less than the big cities, but the land still contains radioactive hazards.

Some environmental studies showed that crabs, foods, plants and even soil in the area are still contaminated. They can affect on the fertility of women.
However, Bikini Atoll is still considered as one of the most beautiful atolls in the world, most visitors travel here to dive and explore the remains of a large number of military vehicles, aircraft, submarines, warships sunk during World War II and relax on the blue channels.
