Having been held for a short period of time, yet Halong Tourism Week has become one of the main attractions in Ha Long Bay, featuring Halong Carnival, which is one of event series and participated and performed by thousands of dancers, musicians, actors, actresses, local students and foreign performers from China and the Philippines, etc…
The Tourism Week starts in late-April to early-May and offers full of cultural events including Classical Music Concert, Halong Cuisine Festival, Halong Bay Photo Exhibition as well as Sport activities such as Football Tournament, Open Dance Sports Tournament, Beach Volleyball Tournament.
The carnival has been designed to imitate and revive local cultural traditions, for example, the Creator procession in the Yen Hung District and the rituals of the Royal Citadel god procession at the famous Tra Co Communal House in Mong Cai.
Joining the festival, tourists are welcomed to participate in joyous street parades, packed with colorful costumes and ebullient dances on main streets winding along the coast. Moreover, radiant, sparkling aerial firework is a magnificent party of color and light which enlightens a whole sky corner of the city. This amazing show and high-tech laser light performance followed by synced music require lots of effort and preparation and promise to bring you unique experiences.
On the occasion of the 6th celebration in 2012, Halong Bay was officially acknowledged as one of New Seven Wonders of Nature of the world by the New Seven Wonder Organization.
