Tan Trao – the remarkable spot of Vietnam’s revolution

Lying in Son Duong district, Tuyen Quang province, there exists a highlighted spot which marks the historical events of Vietnam before the August 1945 Revolution. This landscape contains a lot of historical relics including: Na Lua shack house, Tan Trao temple, Tan Trao banyan tree, Hong Thai temple – the focus of the tour to history.

Na Lua shack house – the living and working place of President Ho Chi Minh
Located about 1 kilometer in the east of Tan Lap village, Na Lua shack house is the place where President Ho Chi Minh used for living and working in the late of May to August 1945 to draw up the plan and make full preparation for General Uprising with the formation of the Liberation Army.
Na Lua is made of bamboo trees and designed following the style of the ethnic. This shack house contains two small rooms, one serves for work, the other one for resting.
This place has become the sacred historical site and reminds people of the hardship and intelligence and courage of the great leader.

Tan Trao banyan tree



Tan Trao banyan tree – the symbol of revolution                           
The 300 years old banyan tree – Tan Trao banyan tree has become the symbol of revolution infused in minds of many Vietnamese generations. Under the shade of the banyan tree, on 8th June 1945, Vietnam’s Liberation Army operated troop departure ceremony in the presence of Tan Trao inhabitants and 60 national representatives. This banyan tree has become the symbol and inspiration for many songs and poetries.

Tan Trao communal house is built for worship the deity (the one who existed in every communal house, believed to protect villagers from disasters and bring good fortunes). The National Assembly Conference was held on 16th August 1945 in this communal house approved the policy of conducting general uprising, founded Viet Minh. This place witnessed several meetings of Vietnamese Communist Party.

Hong Thai Communal House

Hong Thai Communal House – historical relic
Hong Thai communal house is located in Thon Ca village, Tan Trao commune in 1919 bringing the style of stilt house. This communal house was built to adapt the villagers’ needs of meeting, cultural and belief activities. 
Hong Thai communal house is not only well-known for its cultural values but also for its historical values. This is where the vital events which contribute to the victory of the August General Uprising are taken place as well as the first stop of the President Ho Chi Minh when moving from Pac Bo to Tan Trao resistance base.
Tan Trao – a solemn landscape, owns the crucial historical values to Vietnamese people and has been ranked as Special National Historical Monuments.
